My, how times have changed--or--Four tuna

9 years ago: When I was in college the combined OSU choirs performed "Carmina Burana". "O Fortuna" is one of my favorite songs from Carmina.

9 minutes ago: Mason found (in one of the bags of food from our neighbor), some cans of tuna fish. At first he only found two, and Sammy was "skating" around the kitchen on them. Then, he found two more cans. Says he, "Sammy! Four tuna!"

My fortuna has become four tuna.

Blessings

Have you ever had a time when someone gave you a washer and dryer--and they lasted just long enough until you could afford to buy new ones?

Or your mom came to stay with you and bought all your groceries and took care of your kids and the house?

Or you got the exact amount of money you needed right when an unexpected expense came up?

Or your neighbor brought over 5 full bags of canned goods right when you decided you can't go to the store for the next month--twice?

Or someone sends you $20 right when there is something you really want, but can't get?

Or your friends bring you dinner 14 times after you've had your baby?

Or you've really needed church pants for your boys and your sister-in-law brings over a bag full? And not just worn-out hand-me-downs, but nice stuff?

I have.

XOXOXO

Lincoln's blessing--Feb 7th

Stephen blessed Lincoln a couple of weeks ago. His parents flew in from Malaysia on the 2nd, and they were here for the blessing. Paul, Candace and family were also there, as were Uncle Bert and family and Scotty. And here is something funny! My niece, Bianca, was blessed at the same building, and Stephen and I (we were engaged at the time) were there! I'll try to dig up the picture of her blessing that was taken at the same place we took Lincoln's pictures. Crazy.

"Selamat pelang" means "welcome home" in Malay

Here's the man of the hour!! Grammy made him a little white vest. Good thing we didn't wait a week to bless him--he wouldn't have fit in his blessing outfit!

Cuties!

I am so happy that these men hold the Holy Priesthood and gave my sweet baby a blessing

I've created a presentation of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from 1830 to 2010. Check it out here:

Tiny Man

We sure love our little Lincoln! He's 2 months today--and 13 lbs 14 oz, 23 1/2" long. He gives the biggest smiles and is rolling back to front! We can't remember life without him!

Definitions, by Stephen

Vacation: only working 8 hours a day.
Desk: any flat--no, every flat surface.
Potluck: An event with big metal chairs that your kids fall through the back of, tall tables, strange food that your kid's won't eat and where you don't get to enjoy your food because you are chasing your kids around.

House rules

1. No blowing bubbles in your milk at dinner time (it's okay at other meals).
2. No singing at the table.
3. No dancing during meals.
4. Your shoes have to match when we go to church. (Made for Mason.)
5. No jumping on the couch when you are talking on the phone.

Thank you

Thank you to the kind old grandpa who was shopping with his wife in the craft store yesterday. Thank you for seeing that I couldn't reach the knitting needles I was going for, and coming over and asking if you could help--because you love to help. Thanks for saying what beautiful children I have, and when you noticed Lincoln in his car seat in the cart, calling out to your wife, "Look at her 4 beautiful, well-behaved children!"

Thank you for being a perfect example of what a gentleman should be--someone who sees a need and willingly, cheerfully and without fanfare takes care of things. Thank you for giving me a wonderful example that I can refer to when I teach my 3 boys to be gentleman.

Thank you.
