Lincoln

Lincoln is a creature of habit. He has his routines, thank you very much, and when you mess with them you do it at your own peril. For example, the milk bottle...

I was getting fed up with him coming in my room at 6 a.m. every morning, telling me he was hungry, so I came up with the genius idea of getting his food all set out the night before so that I could slumber in peace. I'd get up, pour his milk and then climb back into bed. He thought this was a pretty sweet deal, but soon I didn't want to get up at all, so I found a quart-sized water bottle type thing and put milk in it so that he could pour his own milk.

When I pulled out the new milk container Lincoln about flipped out. This was something new, something to be feared. Something different. After a few minutes of freaking out he decided it was okay, and now it is part of his routine.

Lincoln LOVES to take my phone and take pictures of himself. Most of them look something like this...

Johanna K. & Calvin B. are his best buddies--he looks forward to babysitting swap every week! I'm often asked, "baby-swap today?" You can't tell by their sizes, but Lincoln is the oldest of the three (there is only a few weeks difference between them). :)

Lincoln was so sad when I told him Grammy wasn't coming to visit us yet, so he built a car and we played "Goin' to Gammy's house." The yellow vest he is wearing in the pictures above and below is his favorite thing lately. Elise convinced him to wear it (something new!) by showing him how he could put treasures in all the pockets. He has specific marbles, beads, dice and a car that go in specific pockets. When I wash it he puts everything in a specific box to await a clean vest. When he naps he takes it off and hangs it on the back of his little chair. He's very predictable about it. He's pretty predictable about most things, in fact.
