Haiti

One of my friend's dads (Dr. Mark Rampton - a family doctor in Corvallis) just got back from 10 days in Haiti. If you want to hear some real-life stories, you can read all his letters at my friend's blog, fowlerfam.blogspot.com, or read about the experience from another of the doctors who went chiefhhh.blogspot.com). There are also some great articles at Deseret News.

The First Presidency in our church sent a letter to the church asking for monetary donations and prayers for a spirit of peace and calm to be with the people of Haiti. It has been wonderful to hear the kids pray for the people in Haiti. We took some pumpkin-chocolate chip bread to a bake sale (the proceeds go to the Church's Haiti relief fund) yesterday, and I gave each of the kids a dollar to buy some goodies and help the people in Haiti. I'm so glad we can help in our very small way.
