August 2nd. The long-awaited day finally arrived! We were out the door by 6:30am, with one storm just passing us by and one more ahead of us. Because of said storm, our first long stop was a gas station 2 hours out, where we waited out the storm. After that, we stopped at "The World's Largest Buffalo" in Jamestown, ND.

Mason's comment? "I want to touch that big bump!" Really Stephen, you are letting him try? Really me, I took the picture?

And that's about all that was exciting driving through North Dakota. It was a 17-hour trip from doorstep to hotel. A looooong day, but the kids were great!
