The other day Super-Mom had to make an appearance. The basement had gotten completely out of control, and I was afraid I was going to explode if I didn't make myself laugh first. So, I pulled out some capes...
...and started in the dreaded Lego bedroom. Meet the super-kids!
I am happy to report that no heads rolled, and we actually got a lot cleaned up. Thank goodness!
I'm getting the house ready to rent out over the summer, so have been going through the rooms with a heavy hand, throwing away junk (puzzles and games with missing pieces, old toys, dried play dough...) and organizing things that I really want to keep (drawings, etc.). I've taken bags and bags of things to the trash and recycling, and it feels so good! I don't know how we accumulate so much junk! The family room is (miraculously) not cluttered or messy. I feel pretty confident that it is at a point that it can stay that way, too! Hallelujah!

I have learned two things over the last week:
1) While I love Ikea and love my children, I have decided that the combination of the two is simply too much of a good thing and I will try to avoid mixing them in the future. I'm sure Lincoln's 3-year-old fits were quite entertaining to all those around us, but they about did me in.
They look so sweet and innocent, right? (I actually took this picture in case I lost any of them--I never remember what they are wearing, so I thought showing someone a picture would be easiest.)
2) Next time I make play dough I'm going to make it the same color as my carpet. Blue on beige just doesn't work.

Oh Claire, I just love you. You're so funny and so positive. I love this line, "I have decided that the combination of the two is simply too much of a good thing..." haha! That's a nice way of putting it. :)
