This evening I noticed that Sammy has a red bump under his eye. I pointed it out and asked him where he bumped it; he didn't remember. Then, with a very concerned look, he traced the circles under my eyes and asked, "What happened under your eyes?"
It's called Motherhood. To get these badges of honor you have to consistently go to bed late because of crying babes or wet beds, wake up multiple times every night to feed babes or comfort a child from a scary dream, and get up before you are ever ready.
Yes, Sammy, I earned those dark circles!!

oh Claire! I have dark circles too! And no, they really aren't that bad- at least not on you! You will forever look like your 14, so you have nothing to worry about :)
Oh. So well said. Good for you for earning those circles...which by the way, I didn't notice in the least when I saw you at the egg hunt today!
