Oregon ho!

I love my native state of Oregon. The mountains and valleys, the year-round green of the foliage, the peaches & berries, the evergreen and oak trees, the coast, our families...it is a beautiful place.

Since we are going back to...well...continuing on with school in the fall, and will be going far, far away, I have started to feel a little panicked when I think how far away from home I will be. With that in mind, the kids and I headed home last week. Home to Oregon.

On our way back to Utah, driving through the Blues, I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. What are we thinking moving so far from home for so long? My heart belongs to Stephen, but Western Oregon is right behind.

Sometimes I feel exactly that way when I live away from Utah =). Tennessee is beautiful, but Utah is home.

I'm already feeling the withdrawal! Arkansas is entirely too far from....everything!

I know exactly how you feel, Claire. I've really been missing Oregon lately. It's been 4 years since I've been back. I really wanted to get there this summer but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Iowa is a 24 hour drive, which makes it even more difficult. Wherever you guys do end up I can completely sympathize with being so far away. Its been 8 years since we moved from Oregon but it will always feel like home to me. Hopefully some day we'll end up closer to the west coast than the east :)

I wish you were back in this area too. Do you know where you will be next year?

Oh I know, I know. Oregon will always tug at my heart strings. So fun you got to go back there!

Ditto Zach. I don't know how long I could live without my mountains and desert...but I'll go where I need to go, and always long for home.
