The other day Lincoln got into the kids' Easter eggs and somehow managed to unwrap a Werther's Original caramel hard candy. Being the responsible parent that I am, as soon as I was notified of the situation I removed it from his caramel-colored, drool-covered mouth. I wrapped it in toilet paper and threw it in the downstairs bathroom trash.
Tonight I went downstairs to catch Lincoln to get him ready for bed. Guess where he was? Sitting on the bathroom floor with toilet paper around him, holding something in his hand that was about to go into his mouth.
Oh, yes. It was the partially-toilet-paper-covered hard candy.
I've been patting myself on the back all night over my impeccable timing.

You mean you took that candy away from that dear little redhead? OBVIOUSLY his favorite candy is Werther’s Original caramel hard candy—have a little heart! Just think of the lengths he went to to find your hiding place! Remember Grandma always said “If you can find it, you can eat it!” Now go find another one and tell him GRAMMY said he can have it!!!
that is hilarious! the patience he must have had to tear through the layers of toilet paper to get down to the candy. Wow!...that was some dedication on his part & I have to give kuddos on that account. However, I do give big props to you on the timing and saving him from the woes of having to suck through another layer of t.p. to get to his precious candy...and not really knowing if you can trust it going into his mouth.
